Down Video Follow Up...

So i found this video online a few days ago and it turns out that it is what happened right before the DOWN video I posted earlier. My roommates and me can not stopping watching this. We have been laughing out asses off and quoting if for 2 days straight. Enjoy....

So for a organizational communications class i have we had to develop a product to sell and make a mock company with actual positions and descriptions or whatever ( ie. ceo, advertisement manager, PR, etc.) Well my group decided to pick the alcohol absinthe as our product (i missed class that day) and at first i thought it was stupid as shit and didn't want to it but i said fuck it because the people are cool and we would have fun. Well we did a retarded commercial to show at our "press conference" and it came out pretty ridiculous and funny. Too bad all the stuff isnt in there that we recorded. Oh yeah, we got an A on the project. Anyways, enjoy:

Bury Me In Smoke

I have seriously watched this video on youtube AT LEAST 100 times . My roommate Clark can easily back this up. For some reason it totally intrigues me. Phil looking all loaded as usual but sounding great and playing air guitar. Him telling the crowd "I'm watching you like a vulture." Rex wearing a USA flag bandana looking all crazy. Kirk looking his bad ass self as usual. All of this going on while shredding in front of literally thousands of Australians. It's weird, while DOWN is incredible, you would never seem them play in front of such large crowds in the USA. Overseas, musicians are treated so much better than they are here in the states and thats unfortunate.

DOWN I:NOLA is one of my favorite heavy music records of all time and I always thought "Bury Me In Smoke" was a sick way to finish the record as it is the last track. The riffage is so tight in that song. It still gets me pumped after all this time.

Ok, i don't like the Red Sox. In fact if I were to say that I hated a major league team I would say I hate the Red Sox. This mostly has to do with their fans but hey I guess I could throw in the fact they are a bloated big budget team that is NO DIFFERENT than the Yankees. Or the fact of the organization's obvious racism that laced their past for so long which you still hear whispers about in the baseball world. Or the fact that many of their EXTREMELY IRRATIONAL fans still blame the 1986 World Series loss squarely on Billy Buckner and not on pitcher Calvin Schiraldi or even more so (and most deservingly) manager John McNamara. But hey I wont go there.

They have so many band wagon fans that have been riding their nuts since 2004 its unreal. Its almost as if after 2004 free Red Sox hats were sent to millions of people around the USA, Europe and Japan. Wearing a Sox hat is like a fashion statement these days and it blows my mind. It is amusing how many people I know, I have met or even heard say they are Sox fans but don't know jack shit about baseball, played baseball, or even followed baseball before 2004 who now say they're Red Sox fans. I've heard it all from "My family is from Boston" to "I liked them when I was a kid and became a fan again in 2004" Or even my all time fav which is the "my boyfriend likes em so I do too." I guess that explains the novelty colored Sox hats that I see Marina tramps wear here in SF.

I was thinking it would be cool to come up with a 10-15 question quiz based on the Red Sox and their history and hand it to people I see walking around with Red Sox hats on and see if can even answer a few. I am sure it would make a few of them feel sort of ignorant.

Well I guess the real reason for this post is to say that Manny Ramirez fucking rules and once again this week he showed to the world that he is amazing. I doubt this video will be up for long but Manny making a sick catch and going for the hi-five and then hitting the cut off man perfectly for the double play is great on so many levels.

Tim Barry!

Basically I had been looking for these 2 videos on youtube for a long time and they never seemed to be on there. The only place online I could find them was myspace videos and i try and avoid that shit like the plague. Anyways after lots of searching, i found a cool program online to rip em and convert them and then upload em to youtube. Why i did it? Not sure, I guess boredom and curiosity to see if I actually could. I definitely did not enable the option for people to leave comments and ratings. I read them sometimes and it is seriously like a bunch of down syndrome people trying to have a political debate and it makes my head want to explode. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I have. I cant wait for his new LP and full US tour this fall with Chuck Ragan and Ben Nichols. I am sure not miss that show due to some broad like last time. Oh yeah, Tim Barry has 2 new songs online at http://timbarryrva.com/ and they rule!!

ps. i really hope AVAIL is not broken up as the rumors suggest and friends from RVA say. It will break my heart not to see them at least 1 more time
